Wedding Wednesday: The great cake debate

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I am not a big cake fan, and never envisioned myself having a typical wedding cake. I am more of a But after seeing cakes like these beauties, I am wondering what to do. I still might go with a combination of cupcakes and a small cake. Stayed tuned to see what we decide. Oooh the suspense.

I'm also thinking about something fun like this as a cake topper instead of your typical bride and groom stand. Then, instead of cutting the cake and eating it, we could just feed each other delicious chocolate covered strawberries and I wouldn't have to eat cake!
What about you? Did you have a cake or are you planning to have an alternative?

  1. Haha, you're more of a tart. =)

I've seen a lot of cupcakes lately at weddings. I think that idea is really cute! We had the typical wedding cake, except that it was pink with white polka dots. =)

  2. can't wait to see what you decide to do. mr. taylor and i decided to have a late night reception so we served only deserts so with that we had a small cake really only for decoration and for the cutting the cake pictures. we didn't pass it out. we had an ice cream sunday bar, cupcakes, cheesecakes, etc. i think that's the way to go. it takes too long to have to cut up the whole cake and pass it out. just my decision!! ha
