Things can get pretty hectic when planning a wedding, and for various reasons, some couples decide to skip the whole thing and get hitched at city hall. You know you all had that same thought as some point in your wedding planning! These brides prove that you can be just as glamorous without going all out on an extravagant wedding dress. Last week Friday I had my hair and makeup trials done, as well as some photos in my Indian outfit - this style is called a lengha. We had a lot of fun and had the most perfect day to do them. It made me so excited for the wedding because it made everything seem so much more real, and also gave me confidence that the wedding day will go smoothly.

Here's a few photos that I got back from my photographer as a little preview. I hope you like them!

The days are getting longer, the countdown is getting closer. Things are getting crazy up in here!
The wedding is 4.5 weeks away and I can't even believe it. It still doesn't seem real. We get our apartment this weekend and then it all happens after that. Family is going to start flying in, more showers and lots of things to put on my daily agenda.
So here's what my life has looked like lately and my to do this for this week still. (that's right this week only, there's much more coming once April hits!)

I'm sorry for my lack of posting lately, things have been realllly busy! I thought since my life is pretty much consumed with wedding stuff right now I'd share what I've been up to.
So this past weekend I had not one, but two wedding showers! It was a lot of fun to get to see family and friends in one place and have them meet each other before the wedding. Shower one was Friday night with my dad's family, Shower two was hosted by Sam's mom and sister with a bunch of their family and friends. I felt very loved by everyone and it makes me really excited for the wedding!

Since everything is basically in place for the wedding (which is merely 2 months away now!), all that's left to do is final prep stuff and finalizing everything with each vendor. Of course there are always unforeseen things that go wrong while planning and probably the day of, so I've been trying to be as prepared as I possibly can and then let everything happen the day of, even if it's not exactly as I may have imagined.
Here's a small glimpse into what has gone on over the last 9 months of planning...

As many of you married folks already know, planning a wedding is not the only thing that needs to be done when you get married. Since both my fiance and I both still live at home with our parents, we have a lot to do to prepare for married life. One of those things; Find a place to live.

Well thankfully this week we found out that we got the place that we really wanted, and we are so excited to move in April 1! Here's a few basic pictures from the listing but we're hoping to go back sometime in March to take some pictures and measurements so we can start buying furniture. Here's where the fun begins.
Now for the fun part; finding inspiration! I've been obsessively looking through websites such as Houzz, Apartment Therapy, and Freshome for ideas on decorating our apartment. Here's what I've got.

Despite the common thinking that the wedding day is all about the Bride, I think it needs to be focused more on The Couple. We can't forget about the handsome men! I love the elegance of a tuxedo, especially with a formal bowtie. We're going to look at tux rentals this weekend to find the right style for our wedding; Satin lapels? Tail coat? Cumber band? So many choices! Can't wait to see my man all spiffed up.
