Finding the perfect balance of form and function 

We've had our current living room furniture since we got married 5 years ago, and now that we've added a baby to the mix, the form and function of our furniture has to change. I have been trying to find a media storage unit, but haven't quite found something with the perfect balance between industrial and modern, yet still warm. Another must have is closed storage, since our baby girl loves pulling herself up and tearing everything off of shelves lately. *sigh
I'm dying to find something unique that stands out as more of a furniture piece rather than just media storage. Cue the inspiration.

We have been working hard on getting the baby's room ready, and I'm so excited to start putting in all the little touches. The colour came out so beautiful and I can't wait to show you! But what's a project without before pictures?

Here is what the room looked like when we moved in a couple of years ago (before it became our junk collection room/ my dressing room), and in the process of getting the painting started.

When I started to pin and save photos for our "future nursery" a few years ago, it was always hypothetical and I had so many varying styles. I always thought a bright kid's room would be fun, but then again it didn't seem calming enough for a newborn. Then when we got pregnant, I started pinning gender neutral rooms that I knew could transition easily through the first few years. And then, we found out we were having a girl, I was instantly drawn to pink! What a surprise eh?
We have purchased some of the furniture and are hoping to paint this week and start getting the room ready for our sweet baby girl.  

Over the past year, I have been seriously reducing my wardrobe down to essentials and have been donating tons of clothes. So long t-shirts and worn out University sweatpants, you will be missed.

Now that we are moving again, I have been sorting through everything with a critical eye. 
I want to live a more simple life; less stuff and less worry about the latest trends.
Now that Spring is finally here, I am looking forward to a fresh start.

We have been living in our apartment for about a year and half now, and I am feeling a little antsy about redecorating for fall and winter. I want our home to feel warm and welcoming, but also young and modern.
We have already painted most of the rooms but now it's all about editing to make it all feel like a cohesive space. I'm hoping to pick up a few new things at our family garage sale this weekend, and spend my Sunday at home redecorating! Hopefully I will be able to show you the results on Monday. Happy Scandinavian Thursday! Today I've gathered some beautiful, crisp bathrooms. The bathroom is a place that I always love an all white palette, especially a brick pattern subway tile! It seems so fresh and clean; two things which I'm sure everyone wants for a bathroom. Enjoy!
 

There's something about a simple white bedroom that is so calming and peaceful. I love Scandinavian bedrooms, I just want to dive into these beds and take a nap. Hope you've been enjoying these interior inspirations.
