Vantage Events: Winery E-session

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I shared a little sneak peak of this e-session with you, but the amazing Heidi of Ribbons & Twine Photography was so quick with the edits that I am sharing a few of these beautiful shots with you today! Now that's commitment! Heidi is so talented and I feel honoured to have had the chance to work with her, and am looking forward to Priya & Ryan's upcoming wedding!

Current Project: Winery E-session

Monday, September 16, 2013

This weekend I put together an engagement session for Priya & Ryan who will be getting married in May 2014. We were so thankful that the rain held off just in time for us to capture some great shots at the Pilletteri Estates Winery and downtown Niagara-on-the-lake. I can't wait to show you the some of the images but for now, here's the inspiration board for the shoot and a few teasers. Hope you had a great weekend!

Wedding Wednesday: City Hall wedding

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Things can get pretty hectic when planning a wedding, and for various reasons, some couples decide to skip the whole thing and get hitched at city hall. You know you all had that same thought as some point in your wedding planning! These brides prove that you can be just as glamorous without going all out on an extravagant wedding dress. What about you? Did you have a low-key wedding?

Meet our guest: A Heart and Soul Story

Friday, July 19, 2013

It's Friday! I am definitely looking forward to the weekend after a week of record high temperatures, and no air conditioning! Complaints aside, I want to introduce you to the lovely Anja. She has kindly offered to share her packing list for a wedding in Helsinki, Finland - a place I would absolutely love to visit some day.

Hello, Little Red Purse Readers!  My name is Anja and I am blogging over at A Heart and Soul Story. Leah has been so kind to do a little guest post on my blog while I am attending a wedding in beautiful Helsinki and I now wanted to return the favor. As Leah is in the wedding business, and with her lovely wedding from last year, she is a pro. Still, she asked me to share my packing list for my trip to the wedding in Finland.

As I am combining the wedding trip with a little vacation, I had to pack smart, which is not my favourite thing. I love all my clothes and it is hard for me to limit myself. I still tried.

My outfit had to be classy, but also comfortable as we would be moving around a lot during the day. I tried to find pieces that I could remix again during our trip. I picked a lovely mint/turquoise cocktail dress and added white, mint and silver accessories to the look.

1 Year

Sunday, April 28, 2013

It's unbelievable to me that my husband and I are already celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary this weekend. It seemed to take forever to finally get to this point in my life, but I wouldn't change a thing. Perspective can be hard to find when you are in the middle of something, but looking back, it's all working out in God's perfect plan.

I feel so blessed to have found such an amazing man to be with for the rest of my life. Today I want to say a big Thank-you to him for being so self-less, loving, and hilarious. I can't wait for the next 50 years together.

Life update (I'm back!)

Sunday, March 24, 2013

You may have noticed my absence (or not), so I thought I would share a little of what I have been up to lately. I have been focussing on my new business - Vantage Events, my husband, my family, and me.

Last weekend I participated in The Original Wedding Soiree in Toronto, and was overwhelmed by the support of the local wedding vendors, staff, and brides-to-be. I truly feel like this is what I am meant to be doing, and it's exciting to think of what the future holds.
Here's a few pictures of our booth that was a collaboration of a great group of women.

Bucket list 2013

Friday, February 1, 2013

Last year, I made a bucket list. It was exciting to write down all of the things I could look forward to doing in the upcoming year, and since I am a list-maker, I enjoyed checking things off and having a sense of accomplishment. I wanted to do the same for 2013, and also follow up with how I fared with last year's list.

Educate myself: I took the WPIC course (January 21-22, 2012)
Did an internship with a wedding planner (February - April, 2012)
Got Married! (April 28, 2012)

Traveled to St. Lucia (April 29 - May 6, 2012)
Went Zip-lining & Snorkeling for the first time

Coordinated my first wedding (August 18, 2012)
It was recently featured on the Wedding Chicks blog!

*The others that I didn't complete, will be added to my list for 2013 instead.

2013 Bucket list
1. Visit one Wonder of the World
2. Travel to New York City
3. Go on a spontaneous roadtrip (I'm not a spontaneous person)
4. Spend Canada day in the capital city - Ottawa, ON
5. Go kayaking or canoeing with my hubby
6. Ride an elephant in India
7. Scuba dive/ Snorkel in the Great barrier reef
8. Drive the Great Ocean Road in Melbourne, Australia
9. See the Opera house in Sydney, Australia
10.Take a beginners ballet class

How will you make 2013 a year to remember? Do you have any wild dreams you'd like to fulfill?

Wedding Guest

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Pardon my absence for the past few weeks. Things have been busy with work, personal life, and weddings!
I thought I would start catching you up with some photos from one of the weddings we attended. We left early and flew down to Ottawa, ON (Canada) a few weeks ago for my husband's cousins wedding. It was a great time and so fun to be able to wear some of my indian outfits. I wore a blue saree in the morning, and the black for the reception.

Not Wedding Wednesday: Ceremony Photos

Thursday, May 24, 2012

This is one of my favourite pictures! Just to give you a little bit of background as to why my dad is picking up my father-in-law; We incorporated a small traditional Indian ceremony called Milni. Each member of the immediate family exchanges a garland with one another as a symbol of the two families joining together. Apparently there is always a little competition to see which father can lift each other higher, and my dad surprised us all when he went along with it and pick him up as well!
