Summer '11 Inspiration: Sexy casual

Friday, June 10, 2011

I don't think there could be a more perfect combination of styles. Who doesn't want to be sexy and still dress casually? I love getting dressed up in a great outfit, but I hate being stuffed into a tight mini skirt that makes me feel self-conscious and constantly worrying if my cheeks are sticking out. Not classy ladies! I've seen it and it just ain't pretty. Check out how these sexy ladies pull it off. Have a great weekend!

Cobalt Blue

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Hi Friends. It's Thursday! Which means tomorrow is FRIDAY! Yay.
It's not just any Thursday, it's Awkward & Awesome Thursday.
Awkward:
~ Telling people your very romantic engagement story
~ Sweating so much that your terrible plastic dress pants stick to your butt and thighs
~ Trying to break into my dad's truck through the back window while climbing over piles of stuff, in a McDonald's parking lot. People love to stare.
~ Running into people at the gym and trying to make conversation while sweat is dripping into your eyes and your heaving like a sandbag

Awesome:
~ Getting engaged to the one I love!
~ Planning a real wedding and not just a pretend one.
~ Weekend plans in the sun with favourite friends and family
~ Seeing my cute parents hold hands on the couch while having their morning coffee

Blue silk top: Forever 21
Patterned skirt: Forever 21

A Pinterest Wedding

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

I am one of those girls that has been dreaming about her wedding for years. I knew I wanted to marry my fiance very early in our relationship, and after waiting many years for the right time to come along, it is finally here! I have been saving pictures and ripping out articles that I like, but sometimes it can all just become a big jumble that is forgotten. Introducing Pinterest! I have been obsessed with Pinterest ever since my sister introduced me to it, and it has been a great place to organize all my ideas. Here are some of my pins, and ideas for the big day. Happy Pinning! You can check out my Boards here.
Since we are looking at a Winter Wedding, I want to create a clean, crisp look that coincides with the season. I love the fresh and simple details of this ceremony.
Since my fiance comes from an East Indian background, I want to try and incorporate ideas from his culture that add a little bit of flavour. I love the traditional Indian wedding attire and I think it would be so beautiful to wear an Indian style veil.
From reading about how to budget properly and spend money on the things you love, I know that photography is one of those things I do not want to be cheap on. I will DIY my butt off if  I have to, in order to put that money towards a fabulous photographer. How gorgeous is this photo?!
After saving many many bouquet ideas, I have come to realize that it all depends on the season. Thankfully I have the best florist in town (my mom), and a great source within the floral wholesale business to help me out. I really love the simplicity of this bouquet but still the uniqueness of each flower.
If you are local (Toronto + GTA) and are in the wedding business, feel free to contact me about your services. I need all the help I can get.

Classic with a twist

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

It was a rainy Saturday so I wore my new trench coat that I got as a gift from my mom from her recent trip to Holland. It is the perfect staple to add to my wardrobe that can be mixed and matched so many ways. I thought I'd throw on the leopard print scarf to create a little bit of visual interest to a classic outfit. I was just wearing a plain black top with jeans and flats, but by adding the jacket and scarf you can get a simple look that's perfect for a rainy day.
