Canada Day Celebrations

One of the items on my 2013 bucket list was to experience Canada Day in the capitol city; Ottawa. So this weekend, my husband and I made the 5 hour drive to Ottawa and were lucky enough to stay with his cousin and her husband. It was a great weekend of catching up, and celebrating our Home and native land - Canada. I felt so proud to be a part of such a lively crowd of fellow Canadians! Hope you all had a great long weekend!

A day in snow country

This weekend we went up to Collingwood to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday and enjoyed the great Canadian outdoors. The weather was perfect and I loved the atmosphere of being in snow country.

This weekend my husband and I got away for a night in the beautiful Muskoka at the Marriott resort. The weather was cool but it was nice to put on my cozy new sweater and enjoy a warm cottage(y) weekend.

Back to Class

This weekend I took a wedding planning course through WPIC (Wedding Planners Institute of Canada) to learn about the industry and become a certified wedding planner. It's been over 2 years since I've been in school so I had to figure out the whole deal again, but surprisingly I quite enjoyed it.

I am not a very social person in a room full of strangers, but we were pushed to do exercises with fellow classmates, and I just so happened to meet a really great girl who I became great friends within just 2 short days. Meet Karen, my wedding planning soulmate as we were called.

Yay for new friends, education, and a productive weekend!

Christmas in January

Growing up means moving away and starting your own family, but never forgetting the one that brought you to where you are.
With the Christmas season being so busy and my good friend having a baby just before, we decided to have Christmas in January with my girlfriends. It was so great to catch up and enjoy some cuddle time with the babies.

It's Monday.
After spending a relaxing weekend at the cottage, coming back to work sucks. At least it's a long weekend for us since Friday is CANADA day! Hooray for long weekends. Now only 4 more days to go. Let the countdown begin.
