I have been dreaming of going to India for a while now. My BF's parents have made several trips there over the past 7 years that I have known them, and I wanted desperately to go, but the timing never worked out quite right. I have always been awed by the beautiful beadwork and bright colours that Indian outfits display and the bold jewelry that matches perfectly. I got the privilege of wearing a few outfits over the years and when I attended a family wedding, and it was so much fun! We are getting ready to go to another wedding in a few weeks and I just picked up my very first saree. It is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to show you! Although a blonde haired, blue eyed dutch girl does look a little strange in an indian saree, I don't care. I've realized that as long as you stand tall with confidence in whatever you are wearing, people will notice you first, not the outfit. Here's a few inspiring pictures and some of the outfits I have worn in the past. Take a cue from these beautiful women on how to use colour in your spring wardrobe. Enjoy!
Holi: A religious Spring celebration. Is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other.

You look beautiful in that sari! They celebrate Holi at columbia university and my friends used to come back to our dorm covered in that powder! Even after staying in the shower they couldn't get it out from everywhere! haha it looks like so much fun I never joined unfortunately but I know they had a blast. I've also always wanted to go to India it seems like it would be amazing.
