Wedding Wednesday: The Reception
Wednesday, July 27, 2011
I am going to have a Menu outside the reception doors so our guests will know what tasty meal they have to look forward to. |
We are going to have one full length "feast" style table for the bridal party and family to all sit together. I don't like the idea of being up on a stage above everyone else. I want to be able to interact with our guests and make it easy for people to come and talk to us.
We are thinking of going with a low round centrepiece, but haven't decided yet if we're going to go with a soft neutral colour scheme (my choice), or something dark and bold (fiance's choice). Our linens are going to be dark purple so I like the idea of the centrepiece standing out rather than blending in. What do you think? |

Wedding Wednesday: Notecard DIY
Wednesday, July 20, 2011
Rather than use this as an invitation, I decided to make note cards. With a wedding comes lots of showers and get togethers which means lots of Thank-you cards. I want to make my wedding as personal as possible and put a special touch on every aspect, including Thank-you cards.
Here's how I made my own doily note cards:

Wedding Wednesday: Photography
Wednesday, July 13, 2011
One of my top priorities when planning our wedding budget was photography. I have heard over and over again that the day goes by so fast that you don't even remember everything. Looking back at pictures of the simple details and those candid moments between you and your husband is in my opinion, the best way to relive that wonderful day. Here's where a quality photographer is key. There is so much going on throughout the day that the bride and groom may not even be a part of; guest being ushered in, cocktail hour, conversations over dinner. Capturing those moments is such a beautiful way for them to fully encapsulate their wedding day as seen through the eyes of their guests, and enjoy it for many years to come.
Let me introduce you to our Wedding photographer, Erin Leydon. I have known Erin for many years and have worked with her before. She is a very talented photographer who has already accomplished a lot in her young age. Erin started her own wedding photography business and she does absolutely amazing work! I can not wait to work with her! You can check out her work at Erin Leydon Photography and here.
