A little piece of my heart

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Do you ever have those moments where there's so many thoughts and dreams and doubts going on in your head you just don't even know where to start? Well, I don't really know where to start, but today I wanted to share a little piece of my heart and what's been going on in it lately.

I have been thinking about Christmas, and what it means to me.
We have been dreaming about what our little family will look like some day.
I have been doubting my abilities and what I can accomplish.

I have thoughts of my dear Pake (grandpa) who has passed, and I wish my husband could have met him.
I have dreams for my husband to get the job he has been so patiently waiting for.
I have doubts about whether I will be able to have children some day.

I have been thinking about our future and where it will take us.
I have been dreaming about traveling the world.
I have been doubting my choices.

What are your hopes, dreams, fears about your future?

A Wife of Noble Character

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

In seeking God's favor for my life, and specifically my new marriage, I found this proverb very encouraging and hope that I can be a wife of noble character. I am no expert on marriage, or how to be a wife, or a new business owner, so what better standards to live by than God's.

A Proverb to live by: A wife of noble Character

10“Who can find a wife with a strong character?
She is worth far more than jewels.
11 Her husband trusts her with all his heart,
and he does not lack anything good.
12 She helps him and never harms him all the days of her life.
13 “She seeks out wool and linen with care
    and works with willing hands."
 ...
17 She puts on strength like a belt and goes to work with energy.
...
20 She opens her hands to oppressed people
and stretches them out to needy people.
...
25 She dresses with strength and nobility,
and she smiles at the future.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and on her tongue there is tender instruction.
27 She keeps a close eye on the conduct of her family,
and she does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children and her husband
    stand up and bless her.
In addition, he sings her praises, by saying,
29     ‘Many women have done noble work,
but you have surpassed them all!’
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty evaporates,
but a woman who has the fear of the Lord should be praised.
"

Proverbs 31: 10-13, 17, 20, 25-30 {God's Word Translation}

Leopard bananza

Thursday, November 8, 2012

This morning when I opened my blog feed all I saw was Leopard print! It seems to be the top trend for this coming winter. I guess it's a good way to keep things fun and interesting in the midst of cold winds and freezing temperatures. What trends are you loving for winter?

Wants vs. Needs

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

With a new season, comes a yearning for some fresh new things in my wardrobe. Some things are wants, but others are needs. Now distinguishing between the two of them is the tricky part! Since realizing that I am allergic to all of my wonderful warm and cozy angora sweaters, means I have to replace a few of them so that I don't continue to freeze my buns off at work. So here's a few things I have been painfully longing for since all of this cozy winter fashion has shown it's face.
