Summer Inspiration '12: Denim shorts

This summer is all about denim shorts, messy hair, and baseball tees. I am done with trying to maintain a 'perfect' look, and am more than happy to embrace a more carefree spirit. I love the casual look that summer allows for, and want to follow that through with all of my outfit choices from here on. Things are about to get down right grungy up in here! Stay tuned.

Outfit: Neutrals

An easy take on neutrals. This new knit sweater with silver stripes brings new life to an old pair of boring shorts. I also had to show off my new pumps with the silver heel! Can't wait to wear them to all my upcoming weddings.

There's something about Freja Beha Erichsen's androgynous style that I just love. Simple, mysterious, and a little dark. She is my celebrity crush for my upcoming fall wardrobe.

Discovered on the streets of her native Denmark by a modeling agent passing by in a taxi, Erichsen made her debut as a model in 2005 at the fall Paris and Milan shows of Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu (which she opened). She continues to walk the runways of New York, Paris, Milan and also London, both in the Ready-to-wear and Haute Couture seasons.

Outfit: Just call me Chuck

Nothing brightens up an outfit like a pair of red chucks (high top converse)! This is the perfect simple summer outfit because it's so light and airy, but still covered up. I am over these little high school girls with low cut tops and mini shorts that barely cover their bums! You have to leave a little to the imagination right?

Outfit: Airport weekend chic

Since the huz was working 12 hour days this weekend I was his little taxi service and dropped him off and picked him up so that I could have a car for the day. Sometimes the thrill of being behind the scenes at the airport with him gets me a little giddy so I thought I'd snap a couple shots. Just a typical casual weekend outfit to pick up my husband. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I know it's not the most exciting location for photos (our balcony), but it is WAY too hot outside to be in a jacket. I could only bear to be outside in a denim jacket for 5 minutes maximum! It's a record breaking 37 degrees today! Thank goodness for air conditioning.
