I just want to say Hello: 21/30

Monday, February 28, 2011

Although it may not seem like it between all the black, but I was inspired by Spring! I threw on the red accessories and red lipstick and froze my ass off. What do you think about the red lips? I may take them out for a special night on Saturday to make their debut. I have been drawing some lovely inspiration from some of my favourite blogs: CupcakesandCashmere and Atlantic-Pacific. They both always have such wonderful lip colours. I am out of my challenge rut and on a roll folks! It's amazing how a good lipstick can boost your fashion emotions. Did you notice I changed my part too? I haven't worn my hair like this for about 5 years so it feels so weird. Oh well, here's to change! Cheers.

Won't let you down: 19/30

Saturday, February 26, 2011

I couldn't let you down and not post 5 outfits this week, so here is #19. I can't wait for next week, and to be 3/4 of the way through this challenge! It has been difficult to take decent pictures and keep up the creativity with each item, but I've definitely learned how to push myself to think outside the box. I have some fun outfits to show you next week, so make sure you check back again soon!
Can you tell it was cold? I had to throw on my trusty legwarmers which never let me down.

Studious Student: 18/30

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Just as a Preface to these outfit pictures, for some reason I cut off my feet in every picture. I do have feet and I am wearing shoes just in case you got worried. I'm sorry for the reappearance of the glasses so soon, but I can't get enough of them. I went for the studious student look today so of course I had to wear my trusty glasses. Or for those of you who follow The Man Repeller, my Birth control glasses. For those who don't follow, it's basically saying that every straight man despises these glasses and therefore acts as another form of birth control. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's so true. I'm surprised my BF didn't refuse to take pictures of me while wearing them. He has come so far.

I am so very pleased to say that it successfully Thursday, and therefore only 2 days left until another weekend is upon us. I love short work weeks! I also want to wish my sister a wonderful birthday today!!! Love you. Drop her a birthday wish on her blog.

Travelling Hippie: 17/30

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Being an 80's baby, I have always wondered what it would be like to live through the 70's. I love the funky patterns and shades of brown that were so dominant in their fashion era. I thought I'd bring out my inner hippie and live it for a day. What do you think? Could I pass for a travelling hippie waiting to be picked up by a passing VW cube van?
I am pleased to say the hours of sunlight in a day are slowly increasing, which means better pictures! Yay for all of us. I can't wait for all the snow to melt and to start pulling out my Spring clothes.

Sail away with me: 16/30

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

I don't know why, maybe because of the buttons, but this skirt always makes me feel like a sailor or maybe a pirate with that striped top. I wanted to do a mixture of colours and pattern in a subtle way. The pale pink necklace adds a feminine touch, while the stripes and green skirt still keep in line with my casual style. I am sorry that I look washed out in these pictures but we had to deal with what we got. So considering there was a wild snowstorm outside, I decided it was a good day to stay in (again). I enjoyed a lovely long weekend with my bf and his family and now it's back in the groove tomorrow again. Why does going back to work after a long weekend always suck more? Maybe because I enjoyed it so much I wish it didn't have to end.

Geek Chic: 15/30

Monday, February 21, 2011

I thought I'd let out my inner geek today. I know the glasses are a little over sized, yet ridiculously fun! I felt inspired by my newest blogger crush Atlantic-Pacific, she totally rocks them. I have been trying to experiment with new looks lately so please don't be alarmed by this unrecognizable hottie in the 2nd half of this 30 for 30 outfit challenge.

Stuck in neutral: 14/30

Friday, February 18, 2011

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend. I find that my weeks have been getting busier and busier, which I don't mind, but I can't wait to sit back with a nice cup of tea and cuddle up with my bf. It is also a long weekend for us Ontario-on's (?) which makes it that much better! As far as the outfit goes, I decided to keep things neutral for today and I actually quite enjoy it. I thought the belt and tights still added that bit of interest to the outfit that it needed. I wanted to say a quick shout out to my new followers! Thanks for joining in on the fun, I hope you all have a great weekend.

Comfort and Style: 13/30

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Today is a mix of comfort and style.
This floral Tee has become one of my favourite's because it's comfortable but easily adds a little colour and fun to any outfit. Combined with this cozy sweater, it's a match made in heaven. I am anxiously awaiting the forecasted temperatures for this weekend! 10+ degrees! So I am hoping to have some Springy feeling outfits for you next week and shed the wool sweaters and scarves. This is the debut of my high-waisted trousers so be kind, they were a little nervous for today. I wasn't sure about the wide leg trousers with the long sweater, but I think it works. It's a gloomy day today so brighten someone's day and flash that sparkling smile.

"Bare" with me: 12/30

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

I'm sorry to shock you with my ghastly white legs. I really wanted to wear my knees highs and converse today so you'll have to look past my knees and on to the goods. The weather was unexpectedly cold today so I decided to stay inside on this one. I don't think purple knees would have matched the outfit anyway. I thought I'd pull out the school girl look for you today and also sneak in a little something extra. Did you notice my wonderful new satchel purse? It is one of my vintage finds that will be available in my Etsy shop within the next 24hrs for you to have as your very own! How exciting! I'm in need of some inspiration for the 2nd half of this challenge so I'll be rummaging through editorials and Spring photo shoots today (and probably be left longing for Spring).

 Cardigan: Costa Blanca (Thrifted)
 Plaid button up: Joe Fresh
Purse: Vintage (will soon be in my Etsy shop)
Skirt: Jacob
Shoes: Converse

On a side note, I switched out my last piece that I hadn't worn in the mix yet. I don't know why I chose 2 black skirts in the first place, so I added this grey skirt instead. I'm a rule breaker, I'm sorry. Send me your love and leave a comment with some tips, or let me know how you are doing with your 30x30!

Seeing Red: 10/30

Monday, February 14, 2011

Happy Valentine's Day!
I got to go skiing with the BF for our Valentine's celebration on Saturday, and I was thankful that the temperature was above freezing so we could spend a full day on the slopes. I was exhausted by the end of the day and my body was so sore, but thankfully I didn't take any big spills, and came back in one piece. So, in the spirit of Valentine's day I thought I'd wear my red tights. I typically would have never worn these tights with these shoes, or a grey sweater with beige shoes... but I am pushing myself to take more risks and open myself up to new possibilities with my closet. What do you think? What risks have you taken while doing the 30x30 challenge?

Hippie Chic: 9/30

Friday, February 11, 2011

I pulled out my favourite head scarf today to add a little hippie flavour to this outfit. This thing was my saving grace after a bad haircut mishap, so I thought I'd give it a little love and show it to the world. You like? I had to take these photos after work today and the sun was almost set, so sorry for the weird colouring. I can't wait to have my pro-star photographer back tomorrow aka the BF. I'm so happy it's the weekend. Friday's just rock my socks.
On an exciting note, I am now accepting sponsors! If you are interested in Sponsoring or Advertising on my blog please send me an email. You can read my Contact tab for more information. Hope you have a great weekend!

Ditched: 8/30

I debated whether or not to post this outfit cause I really am not a fan of how the leopard tank looks with this blue sweater, but I didn't want to leave my wonderful readers without a 30x30 post today. The sudden snowstorm made these pictures a little blurry, plus the fact that I was freezing and just wanted to get the heck off that hill! If you noticed, my boots are covered in snow, that's because at the bottom of that hill was a giant ditch! While running up the hill I sunk all the way through up to my knees. Good thing I had my knee high boots on and not my converse!
On a side note, I'm getting excited for Valentine's Day! Since I only see my bf on the weekend, we are 'celebrating' on Saturday. We're going skiing! Yay, I can't wait to be a snow bunny for a day. There's only one problem, I have no idea what to wear!? Any advice on what to wear for a day on the slopes?

In a Tizzy: 7/30

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

I was undoubtedly jealous of everyone at the blogger conference yesterday, and reading everyone's tweets about Joan Rivers really got me in a tizzy. If, by chance, there is anyone out there who would love to offer me some tickets for ANY NYFW show, I will graciously take the offer and hop on a plane ASAP.
On another note, I must apologize for the poor quality of these photos. I had to take them very quickly between getting home from work and heading off to the gym, and going outside in these ridiculous temperatures was not an option. Plus, I don't have my trusty photographer around, so it's just me and the self-timer doing our thing. I'm sorry for the rather boring ensemble today, it seems that my outerwear has more personality than my innerwear...?  Yeah well I'm working on it. Any suggestions for my 30x30 would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I need the help because I'm starting to look a little boring again.
