Outfit: Free People

I always love Free People's looks, but have never attempted them myself. Until now. I thought I'd start off with a super easy and casual look. I love my black maxi for it's versatility and comfort so it was a must.

Wedding Wednesday: The Reception

Now that planning is in full swing, the ideas are flowing. I want to wow our guests when they step into the reception. Being the beginning of spring, I want everything to feel very fresh and natural with the dark contrast of the purple accents. These are some ideas for the reception decor and setup.
P.S. sorry, I forgot it was Wedding Wednesday so you'll have to wait to see my Free People look until tomorrow...oh the suspense.
I am going to have a Menu outside the reception doors so our guests will know what tasty meal they have to look forward to.
We are going to have one full length "feast" style table for the bridal party and family to all sit together. I don't like the idea of being up on a stage above everyone else. I want to be able to interact with our guests and make it easy for people to come and talk to us.

This uplighting is so beautiful and the intricate lighting on the wall ads that extra bit of detail. I hope I can find something like this.

Instead of a typical display of wedding cake, I want our guests to indulge in a variety of  tasty trifles and tarts.

We are thinking of going with a low round centrepiece, but haven't decided yet if we're going to go with a soft neutral colour scheme (my choice), or something dark and bold (fiance's choice). Our linens are going to be dark purple so I like the idea of the centrepiece standing out rather than blending in. What do you think?

Summer inspiration: Free People

I had posted this picture months ago for summer inspiration, but never got around to trying this look out yet. It's so casual and comfortable, yet very summer chic. Check out my look tomorrow! Have a good one.

Outfit: Little Black List

So yesterday was probably the hottest day of the year, and I chose to wear a leather skirt. Needless to say I was a tad sweaty. I spent so long curling my entire head of thick hair, and by the time I made it outside, it was flat. Thanks a lot 40 degree weather for wasting my time. In other news, I got a manicure done the other day, it was splendid. How do you like the new colour?

(Can you believe everything except my $1 bikini top was thrifted? I don't know about you, but that is friggen exciting in my book)

Outfit Inspiration: The Little Black List

You've heard me talk about the one and only talented lady, Tess of The Little Black List. I was trying to find some inspiration for an edgy look and remembered some of her Fall posts that I just about died over.

I love the big hair, loaded makeup, total badass look. Seeing as I have none of these things going for me, this should be a fun challenge! I can't wait to tease my hair, go nuts with makeup and pull out my gnarliest look ever! Stay tuned, you won't want to miss this my friends.

Wedding Wednesday: Notecard DIY

While browsing Pinterest once again, I found this beautiful invite made out of a doily. I just thought it was the most unique thing I'd ever seen, and instantly wanted to create my own rendition of it.
Rather than use this as an invitation, I decided to make note cards. With a wedding comes lots of showers and get togethers which means lots of Thank-you cards. I want to make my wedding as personal as possible and put a special touch on every aspect, including Thank-you cards.
Here's how I made my own doily note cards:

Outfit: Beach essentials

This weekend is going to be absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to be outside and enjoy it! The Fiance and I (can't refer to him as the BF anymore), are planning to go to the beach on Saturday and lounge in the sunshine. What could be better? My beach essentials are; a good magazine, my hat, sunglasses, crochet top (which can be worn as a cover up), and mini skirt. Oh, and don't forget the sunblock! What are your beach essentials? Happy weekend everyone!

Outfit: I'm a Tuille

I wanted to play around with the tuille curtains we have hanging off our deck for a change of scenery, and it made for a good time!  I haven't pulled out the 'ole glasses for a while so I thought I'd throw them on for ya as well. I got these new black shorts the other day with the intentions of wearing an outfit such as this for a summer work outfit, but I think they're a little too short for my comfort level. I'd prefer to not have people staring at my legs all day... or ass for that matter. Well feast your eyes blog lovers, cause it's your little treat for the day.

Wedding Wednesday: Photography

One of my top priorities when planning our wedding budget was photography. I have heard over and over again that the day goes by so fast that you don't even remember everything. Looking back at pictures of the simple details and those candid moments between you and your husband is in my opinion, the best way to relive that wonderful day. Here's where a quality photographer is key. There is so much going on throughout the day that the bride and groom may not even be a part of; guest being ushered in, cocktail hour, conversations over dinner. Capturing those moments is such a beautiful way for them to fully encapsulate their wedding day as seen through the eyes of their guests, and enjoy it for many years to come.
Let me introduce you to our Wedding photographer, Erin Leydon. I have known Erin for many years and have worked with her before. She is a very talented photographer who has already accomplished a lot in her young age. Erin started her own wedding photography business and she does absolutely amazing work! I can not wait to work with her! You can check out her work at Erin Leydon Photography and here.

Just call me captain

Eye-eye captian! I felt like a little sailor in this top... too bad I don't have a sailboat. I have always dreamed of going on a sailboat. It just sounds so romantic doesn't it? Well it has been a hot couple of days and I am thoroughly enjoying all of my summery clothes now. It's too bad I only wear some of these cute little tops once a year. Maybe I'll pack it for the honeymoon...

Drooling over Elie Saab Fall 2011 Collection

While scouring the internet to find the perfect wedding dress, I came across Elie Saab's Fall 2011 Couture collection. I fell in love with everything! In my wildest dreams, I would LOVE to wear an Elie Saab dress on my wedding day! Here's a few of my favourites, but it's almost impossible to have favourites since they are all so stunning.
