Weekend adventure

My BF and I are hoping to buy our first car together! This was the colour we were going to get originally, but now we're hoping to get the black Jetta 2011. So pumped!
We ran across a snake infested field snuck into the dealership to get a sneak peak at our baby. Hopefully we can get it for next weekend.

Travel Bag {Amsterdam, Netherlands}

I have been reminiscing on a whirlwind trip we made to Amsterdam several years ago, and thought I'd share some tips for packing a weekend bag for winter in Holland.
We visited in the off season and the canal boat taxis didn't run at that time, so we ended up walking a lot! Another great way to get around this city is biking. The bike traffic is as busy as the motor vehicle traffic, and it was wonderful to see such an active city. We visited the infamous Red Light District on the first night we were there, and it was definitely all that you would imagine... and more. We also walked through the historic Anne Frank Museum which I really enjoyed.

I have had this jacket for quite a few years, but I never get tired of it. It's actually a kids jacket from H&M that I snagged at a great price! I am also Loving my Tom's knockoff's, they're so comfortable. It's been rainy and gloomy this whole week, therefore lack of outfit posts and inspiration = a dull (but comfortable) outfit. Come to think of it, this is pretty much my typical weekend outfit. Maybe it's time to spice things up a little, what do you say? Stay tuned.

I love the short hair on her! It has given her a more sophisticated look, and she has been getting a lot of publicity for it! It reminds me of the days when I had short hair... not such a good look on me, but at least it's something I can say I've tried and never want to try again.

This is one of the only picture's I have with short hair because I refused to let people take pictures of me.

Red Lips

I know this is a scarily large photo of my face, and I look rather unhappy, but I just can't get enough of my favourite lipstick. I have never been a lipstick girl, but it's growing on me and I think I may need to invest in a few more fun colours to rock for Summer. Any suggestions?

High street/ Low street

Have you ever seen Gok's fashion fix? I love his high street/low street competitions, where the same type of look can be created on a high vs. low budget. Here, I've actually mixed a high budget dress with a very low budget vest, to balance out the look. I have never worn this dress because I have always felt overdone. Mixing it with this denim vest made me feel more laid back and it helped tone down the vibrant print. Anyone else happy it's Friday? Have a great weekend!

Three cheers for Spring! I love the fresh green grass that is finally growing and the smell of freshly cultivated soil. As you can see, I live on a vegetable farm, and the fields are being prepped for a summer of carrots! I wanted to take advantage of this beautiful warm sunny day and wear my ruffled top. As I was putting this outfit together, I realized that almost everything is thrifted! This outfit probably cost me under $50, what could be better?
